Sade: True Essence

Audio-Journalism plays a large component in information sharing alongside other journalistic mediums. This was how Ghetto Life 101 was created, an internationally regarded radio documentary that gave voice to the neglected South Side of Chicago. Two teenage boys named LeAlan Jones and Lloyd Newman spoke of their lives and interviewed others with a microphone and cassette tape that was produced by David Isay and broadcasted on National Public Radio. The stories they shared raised significance behind covering the black community. There are historical news coverings, historical images, and of course, historical voices. Voices that give life to words that live past their death whether it be haunting or powerful. I present to you an action project for Journalism Unit 3: Sound, where I tell the story of finding rare genuinity behind stardom.
